Little Rock, AR – Matt White, owner and president of American Homes of Russellville, was recently recognized for a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedicated service and generous support of the state’s factory-built housing industry with induction into the Arkansas Manufactured Housing Association’s “Hall of Fame”.
The Association’s highest individual honor was presented to Mr. White during the Chairman’s Banquet of the 42nd Annual AMHA Convention, held September 19 at The Marriott Hotel in Little Rock.
The announcement was made through an audio-visual presentation paying tribute to the recipient’s lifetime accomplishments within the industry.
The honor came as a complete surprise to Mr. White, who accepted the award from AMHA Chairman Sherman Price of Mena with an emotional ‘Thank You’ to convention attendees.
ABOUT MATT WHITE…
Son of the late James ‘Jimmy’ White III, Matt White was raised in Hot Springs and earned his BS degree in finance from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston.
Matt White joined the manufactured home industry in 1994 and earned a leadership position with the family’s retail sales center in 1996. He purchased American Homes from his father and became sole owner of the company in 2007. American Homes is located just off Interstate 40 at Exit 81 in Russellville.
White is active in community affairs and economic development in Russellville and throughout the River Valley area. He is an active member and former chairman of the board of the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Main Street Russellville board of directors, and was named to the River Valley Regional Intermodal Facilities Authority by the Russellville city council.

Mr. White is active in the manufactured home industry as well. He has been a member of the Arkansas Manufactured Housing Association’s board of directors since 2000, and has held nearly every position of leadership with the organization – including chairman of the board in 2005. He currently serves as chairman of the association’s government relations committee. He was recently re-appointed by Governor Mike Beebe as an industry representative to the Arkansas Manufactured Home Commission, the state agency which regulates the factory-built housing business in the state.
White was joined at the podium by his wife, Melinda, when he received the award. The Whites make their home in Russellville with their sons, Matthew and Gavin.
