Following a February letter sent to RV and manufactured housing industries asking for support to keep the RV/MH Hall Museum and Hall of Fame open in Elkhart, Indiana, a March 15 “summit” has been organized to discuss the financial plight of the museum. An $887,000 note due March 15 has been delayed by the bank until April 1 to give the Hall time to put its finances in order. Mike Molino, president of the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association, said it’s important for the Hall to remain open, but a business plan needs to be developed to maintain the museum for the long run. Executive Director of the Hall, Tom McNulty, said he needs $42,000 to $45,000 monthly to keep the doors open, but at this point it can remain open only a few more months.
