Waterloo (Iowa) Community Schools officials succeeded in convincing Waterloo’s Planning, Programming and Zoning Commission to allow two modular classroom buildings to remain at Kingsley Elementary school while district officials deal with balancing the burgeoning student population. Sited in Sept., 2010, each building contains two classrooms, both of which had been scheduled to retire at the end of this school year but will be needed for one more year. The Waterloo Board of Education endorsed the proposal, according to wcfcourier.com. “There are some people that are not ecstatic about the modulars. But they have been very effective and allowed us to continue educating the kids,” says Superintendent Gary Norris.
