With a 174-acre tract of land donated to the state for Florida Polytechnic University in Lakeland, Fla., on which classroom construction is progressing, officials are concerned about the lack of housing, according to what theledger tells MHProNews. Rob Gidel, chairman of the school’s board of trustees, questions whether housing for 500 can be built in time for the school’s opening in 14 months. John Gray, consultant to the project, says modular housing would provide a good option. The closest apartment complex to the campus is five miles away.
