From Ontario and the Daily Commercial News, MHProNews.com learns about a new modular housing complex utilizing shipping containers. Unlike many projects, the units here do not look like shipping containers. Toronto developer InvestorCentric Inc. used the containers as the basis for two multi-family buildings. According to the report, the containers’ structural strength is 50 times that of wood framing, is fireproof and can be built to a height of 10 stories. With modifications to the process, the developers now estimate a three story building can be constructed in 11 days.
