Have you heard the word about Small Business Saturday? The Saturday after Black Friday?
Odds are good that the answer is yes. ICYMI, here is AmEx’s newest video promo on that topic.
Have you heard the word about Shop Small – Manufactured Housing Independents Small Business Saturday?
No, of course not. There is no such thing.
But the question is, should there be?
Perhaps more to the point, not only on ‘shop local’ for Small Business Saturday, shouldn’t there be a year round effort to promote the savvy choice of supporting white hat manufactured housing independents? Isn’t that an important antidote to the black hats that have a trade group based in Arlington, VA?
American Express has been involved in promoting Small Business Saturday for the past several years. A longer, prior video by the Wall Street Journal from 2016 is posted below that gives a little more background to the movement.
But once more, it should spark the thought for manufactured housing independents – those white hats of the industry. Why not ponder the value of working together to promote with consumers the values that independents bring, versus what some of the industry’s biggest boys or key MHI members bring?
Just some light-hearted food for thought. ICYMI, don’t forget to check out those all important photo ops brought to you by the fine folks in Arlington, VA. Yes, the industry is shrinking year-over-year in new manufactured home shipments. But you ought to take deep pride that MHI’s Lesli Gooch has a picture of herself standing in front of the White House. Wow.
