BusinessWire reports from Cleveland, Ohio the CBIZ Small Business Employment Index (SBEI) says hiring trends grew by 1.38 percent in June, contrary to weakening reports from the federal government’s statistics for the same period. A barometer for hiring trends of businesses with fewer than 300 employees, and provider of payroll services for 3,000 businesses of varying industries and locales across the country, the SBEI says the growth in May hit 1.34 percent. Of the companies surveyed 29 percent said they were adding employees, 20 percent reported a decrease in employees, and 51 percent reported no change. Philip Noftsinger, business unit president for CBIZ payroll division, says, “This month’s positive number represents three months in a row of positive employment growth in this sector.” MHProNews.com has learned the federal government reported 80,000 jobs were added to the economy in June.
