RVBusiness says the Vancouver Sun reports a new community of factory-built micro cottages is being developed at Port Renfrew, British Columbia, in Canada. The first 40 unit phase of the Wild Coast Cottages Oceanside, each 400 square feet, is nearly sold out. The second, Water’s Edge at Wild Coast Cottages, will be 550 to 650 square feet, all built by Westco Construction, Ltd., of Victoria, British Columbia. Re/Max Realtor Bill Fowler, and wife Karen, a public health nurse, can reach the front door of their modular unit in three hours from the Calgary Airport. “Bill was sitting on our deck reading the newspaper one day when he said ‘I think we’ve just found our vacation property,’ ” recalls Karen. Jack Julseth of Three Point Properties says these modular homes are of quality construction, and meet consumers’ functional and economic requirements. Westco specializes in custom prefabricated housing. Prices range from $199,000 to $399,000.
