The Santa Fe Association of Realtors (SFAR) tells the SantaFeNewMexican home sales are up in the area due to low interest rates and buyers fears that interest and prices will soon rise, but inventory is down as potential sellers wait for prices to improve. The median sales price for a single-family dwelling, the most telling of all the statistics, Q1 2012 over Q1 2011, fell less than one percent to $352,000. Inside the city limits the median price was up 4.5 percent from Q1 2011 to $290,000, but outside it was down 8.8 percent to $385,000. MHProNews.com has learned overall real estate sales including townhouses, single-family dwellings, condos, multifamily units, manufactured homes, and bare land in the area accounted for a median sales price of $98,000, a drop of 42.2 percent from $169,500 a year ago.
