There seems to be a contest to find out who can come up with the most unusual design for a “tiny house.” A Texas bed and breakfast owner recently converted a 1940s grain silo into a vacation cottage to accommodate guests visiting the Gruene Homestead Inn.
Tiny House Talk tells MHProNews that the home features a covered front porch and inside there is a living area, kitchen, tiled bathroom with contemporary fixtures, and a spiral staircase that leads to the upstairs bedroom. There is a king-size bed upstairs in the loft, a full sofa-bed in the living area, a tiled shower, two sinks, a wet bar, a microwave, and a refrigerator.
The silo was initially located just off the back side of the inn’s property. The inn owners purchased and moved the silo in 2007 and have since remodeled both the interior and exterior in their own style.
Care to spend a night or two here? This tiny house can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children, 12 years or younger, and rents for $175.00 – $210.00 per night. It might be fun to have something like this in your own backyard for guests! ##
