Homeowners in a subdivision north of Madison, Wisconsin have asked the Newport Town Board to initiate action to have a multi-section manufactured home removed from their subdivision. According to wiscnews.com, the town ordinance forbids mobile homes from being sited outside communities, but the Columbia County Planning and Zoning Department replied the home is a manufactured home and is therefore allowed. MHProNews has learned the subdivision has a covenant prohibiting manufactured homes as well, but Town Chairman Matthew Brunn says the town cannot be involved in enforcing a covenant, so the residents of the subdivision will have to work it out themselves.
