“…And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand,”
– Mark 3:25, cited by Abraham Lincoln in the following quote.
“A house divided against itself cannot stand.” I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free. I do not expect the Union to be dissolved—I do not expect the house to fall—but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.” – Abraham Lincoln, in famous ‘a house divided’ speech.
We aren’t dust in the wind, not yet anyway.
The song by Kansas, below has had 120 million views. It’s based upon Ecclesiastes 1:14, and is a reminder of the inevitability of death. But it that also reminds us to make the most of this life as one prepares for what follows. And while we all will become dust one day, we are God’s beloved dust, always. There is nothing without a deeper meaning, nothing.
Decisions – and indecisions – inevitably create results. Elections have consequences.
Lawlessness does too.
There’s potentially a record number of cases in the modern era involving human trafficking on our southern border.
That includes teenage female sex slaves, per independent award-winning journalist Sharyl Attkisson.
Former President Barack Obama, Hollywood celebrities, lawmakers, numerous millionaires or billionaires, and the Pope – to name but a few – all live behind walled properties.
Other nations like Hungary, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the historic Great Wall of China are among the past or present reminders – ‘living proof’ – that walls, fencing, and physical barriers work. But lawmakers – who in several cases previously supported fences and/or a wall plus other additional border security – are hypocritically continuing the standoff in Washington, D.C.
So, it is now almost two week into a partial federal shutdown. Several sources suggest it could be a record for such shut-downs, as both sides are dug in.
The connections between largely uncontrolled illegal immigration, crime, and affordable housing are rarely heard on mainstream news reports. Why?
Millions of human lives are being toyed with by political and economic forces struggling for control of the minds, hearts, and soul of the world’s richest nation. Its not merely the attractive magnet of a better life that’s to blame for border jumpers. It is at least as much the deceptive, cynical decisions made here in the U.S. that’s creating misery on both sides of that invisible line.
There are the whitewashed bones of the dead who’ve crossed illegally and didn’t make it. They are found in parts of California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and on the Mexican side of the line too.
Or there are those who crossed and lived, only to become young sex slaves. Others who become low-cost labor that undermines the earning power of American labor. Those fellow humans are not being treated like beloved dust. But rather, they are manipulated, abused and tossed aside like dirt by the powerful that pull the strings behind the curtains.
Shadows of Liberty
Actor and millionaire Danny Glover, as longer-time Daily Business News on MHProNews readers may recall, said that there’s a monopoly of not only money, but also of information.
Former CBS Anchor Dan Rather said that mainstream news is mostly controlled by a limited number of companies who decide what you see, hear, and read. That in turn has a subtle but substantial cumulative and manipulative impact on the views of your fellow Americans.
Among those media giants?
It’s Disney, who owns such outlets as ABC News, ESPN Sports, A&E, Marvel, and much more.
Yesterday, MHProNews reached out to MHAction, to see if they really care about the image and integrity of manufactured home owners as it relates to the Disney controversy playing out in Orlando, Florida.
Food, Folks, Fantasy, Fun, and Flubs – Disney’s “Trailer” Slur Update
We will report what, if anything, MHAction will do.
The leadership team – elected and staff – of the Monopolistic Housing Institute, err, Manipulative Housing Institute, opps, the Arlington, VA based Manufactured Housing Institute (MHI) was contacted in the last part of December about this Disney topic. If it’s good for the industry at large to be properly understood and respected, is it good for MHI – with their own full time PR person – to weigh in on this topic?
MHI either will or they won’t weigh in on the Disney controversy. Either way, it speaks volumes, doesn’t it?
MHProNews will soon begin to take the pulse of other selected industry trade groups, to see if they will weigh in on what may be a slow, protracted struggle with Disney to get them to do whatever is right on what should be an easy decision for a multiple-billion dollar firm. Keep in mind, that Disney may have already spent more in communications with MHProNews and in their ‘internal discussions’ than what it would cost to simply replace a few signs. Or how much would it cost Disney to draft and email a memo to their staff on proper industry terminology, and the respect for 22 million homeowners in the U.S. and the additional souls living in factory-built homes in Canada?
Whatever response, or no response, those nonprofits provide the Daily Business News, and MHProNews will report back to our growing numbers of professional readers-investors and affordable housing advocates.
Affordable Housing, and a Costly Shutdown
One can debate the style and tactics of former NBC reality TV star and billionaire real estate mogul turned-President, Donald J. Trump. But he was arguably the creation of a political and economic revolt by tens of millions of voters tired of the status quo. He’s a disruptive figure, doing what a disruptive person in the White House does.
One can also debate equally controversial figures, such as Maxine Waters (CA-D). Waters will likely take over the reins today at the powerful House Financial Services Committee.
MHProNews alone in 2018 reported in MH trade media an instance – S. 488, the Jobs and Investor Confidence Act – that produced a high degree of bipartisanship – 4o6 to 4 – that Waters and now former chairman Jeb Hensarling (TX-R) achieved on an economic reform bill.
Similarly, MHProNews alone in MHVille trade media reported the high degree of bipartisan victory achieved in the recent prison reform bill.
Why do these issues matter to MHPros, investors, and affordable housing advocates?
Because the law of supply and demand is operating at all times. Unjust incarceration costs taxpayers, and results in human tolls. It also means that businesses that are crying for qualified labor are going without. Prison reform was prudent, and should remind both left-and-right that the nation even recently could come together, as honest Abe Lincoln thought possible.
An unsecured southern border has allowed waves of undocumented peoples from Latin America, but also from other nations around the world, to sneak into the USA.
While the mainstream media often reports that there are 11 million undocumented in the U.S., there are estimates as high as 20 million.
But stop and think about either of those totals of undocumented in the U.S. from an affordable housing perspective.
When the National Association of Realtors (NAR) chief economist Lawrence Yun said that the nation needs some 8.3 million housing units, perhaps half that count is arguably the result of the presence of illegal immigrants being in the U.S.
Does that impact you, your profession, and investments? Of course, it does.
Like it or not, while political theater is being stage-managed by partisan forces in Washington, D.C. for millions of viewers/readers/listeners, the battle for your wallet and will are ongoing.
You and millions of others are being treated like dust in the wind, before your time.
MH Errata
An errata or erratum is “an error in printing or writing.” We get typos, sorry, but it is what it is. Last night, an executive with a MHI-only-association member company emailed MHProNews’ publisher, L.A. ‘Tony’ Kovach to say that the order of the names under a pair of Democrats in a photo were mistakenly reversed. Those elected officials names were correct, but the order was somehow flip-flopped in the sequence. It was possibly an error from another source that we overlooked in transcribing those two Democrats names, either way, we should have caught it. In minutes, the correction was made, and our publisher emailed back his thanks.
Here was the reply from that source.
“Not criticizing…
Thanks for all you do…
The deep state shall no longer be like cockroaches… shine the light on them and they scatter… accountability is paramount to corrective action…
Keep up the work…”
Another manufactured home industry veteran, community and development focused Eddie Hicks emailed to share an on-the-record view of a concept to get beyond the political divide in Washington, D.C. Hick’s commentary, is linked here or by clicking the pull-quote, below.
MHC Pro Eddie Hicks, Federal Stalemate, and the 28th Amendment Solution
If you, like me, are somewhat totally perplexed by the apparent “stalemate” our duly elected members of Congress are in, perhaps it’s because in recent years they’ve “risen” above us all . . . or have they? Read the 28th amendment, again if necessary.
A third MH industry pro, with millions personally invested in the industry, plus a leader of an independently owned firm, emailed to say:
“I always knew you were gonna get attacked…[by MHI and their string pullers]…never quit.” He also said, “See you in Louisville.” The extended quote from that MHPro is linked here or by clicking the textbox below.
https://manufacturedhomepronews.com/masthead/profitably-defeating-the-long-knives-2019-new-years-resolution-for-mhville/
Yet another industry partner-investor emailed to our publisher to say:
“I really enjoyed this article! I love the movie “It’s a Wonderful Life“.
God Bless…”
The point of sharing these specific quotes from the many that come in?
While there’s a diversity of views in our industry, many are aware and eager to see the disruption of the political, social, and economic status quo.
It’s fight night at the fight club.
While you sleep, events are in a manner of speaking being scripted, hoping to manipulate you, your family members, your co-workers, and circle of friends or industry colleagues. That’s not a conspiracy theory, that’s reality. That’s what those voices on Shadows of Liberty and other experts who have studied the issue say. Do you think it is a coincidence when every Democrat, or every media talking head on this or that network, is repeating the same words, over and over? What are the odds of that occurring, if it weren’t in some fashion – scripted?
Rephrased, it’s all part “an info war,” as another MHI member industry president said. The “info war” is part of the broader puzzle of legal, regulatory, and economic manipulation. Who says?
As our report on Monday duly noted, the richest nation in the world was ranked #41 by Wikipedia in the rate of home ownership. How is that possible? How do you explain that low rate of U.S. home ownership?
Here’s what both 2016 candidates Senator Bernie Sanders (VT-I, self-avowed Democratic Socialist who caucuses with Senate Democrats) and GOP nominee Donald J. Trump said “the system is rigged.” Click that report below to better understand the relevance and interconnections of these issues.
Eye Opening – Manufactured Homes in National, Global Context
Trillions in Value Changed Hands in the 2008 Housing Crisis…
Trillions more were ‘lost’ in the waning weeks of the 2018 market slide.
Housing and real estate are a multi-trillion-dollar part of the U.S. economy. We will soon be bringing you an exclusive analysis on a report by NASDAQ that should glue eyes from the U.S., Canada, and beyond.
The left-right media divide is often nicely captured by the eclectic Drudge Report. It is one of several sources we keep an eye on, to help industry readers like you save time, and stay better informed.
Our left-right evening market report is becoming a must-read for a growing number of pros. Everyone with motivation wants information that’s worthwhile. Everyone needs third party-reality checks. That’s one of many reasons why we value reader input and tips.
The evening market routinely places our MHVille industry into the broader, roiling, economic and political nexus that’s holding once far-greater industry from achieving its true potential.
The factory-built home industry could come roaring back in short order. That’s what those years in the early 1990s tell you in the graphic above.
The news, historic context, plus analysis craved by folks from coast-to-coast isn’t found anywhere else in MHVille trade media. The cheers and jeers – the later of which we see as a badge of honor – because of who and why they’re motivated to smear, sneer, and jeer.
Here on MHProNews, we hold the powers that be, the blatantly fake or hypocritical, accountable. Because it all impacts and matters to you, and your loved ones.

What’s Next?
There’s a series of open questions that will unfold in 2019. They absolutely impact your profession. But they also impact tens of millions of lives, and represent trillions – yes, trillions – in economic value and activity.
FEAR, a Solution to the Affordable Housing Crisis, and the Manufactured Home Dilemma – manufacturedhomelivingnews.com
Fear affects decision-making every day. But often, ” F.E.A.R.” is an acronym for ” False Evidence Appearing Real.” Our research indicates that the solution to the affordable housing crisis is hiding in plain sight, but fear and prejudice have kept it from being widely embraced.
These facts and linked reports all provide evidence to back the thesis or claims with relevant data-points from credible sources. When the facts are inter-laced in a report like this, a new clarity about the full scope of our opportunities – and obstacles – begins to emerge.
Why is manufactured housing underperforming?
Rigged system. Misinformation that has been allowed to persist. Some of that at a local level, perhaps like the Disney case, may begin as innocent ignorance. Ignorance is nothing to be ashamed of, we are all ignorant about many things.
But once Disney – or anyone else becomes informed, at that point, they are ignorant no longer.
Does it all interrelate? As our readers in Wisconsin say, “youbetcha.” Especially if you don’t want to be dust in the wind before your time. This version of the Kansas song posted below are the lyrics and the song, and ‘only’ has 9 million views. If only MHI could come up with a video that has 9 million views.
Life is rich and filled with meaning. But we were not meant to be trampled upon, we were not meant to be divided as we are. Abe Lincoln FOUGHT with people of good will to hold this nation together.
Don’t think for a second that you won’t have to fight too.
Because those who don’t fight have already surrendered, they just don’t know it.
By the way, those teen sex slaves? They aren’t just from south of the border anymore. By allowing lawlessness to occur, we’ve created human tragedies of drugs, sex, crime, and violence on both side of the U.S.-Mexican border. It is a tragedy that crosses gender, age, racial and other lines.
It’s avoidable. Law and order must be restored. If the laws that impact manufactured housing would be restored, and other laws were justly enforced, our nation would have an amazing revival. If not, dust and ashes await.
Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing, a Novel Yet Proven Solution to the Affordable Housing Crisis That Will Create Opportunities, Based Upon Existing Laws – manufacturedhomelivingnews.com
Affordable quality housing is one of the most critical issues of our time. So too is affordable home ownership, which should be the ideal goal over rental housing. A challenge is zoning and land use, which is highly politicized, and thus is often misunderstood. What follows is adapted from the comments letter addressed as shown below.
Borderline and MHVille
One can’t snap a finger and change what’s happening at the southern border. Yes, visa overstays, and other immigration relate issues exist too. No one article this brief covers every angle.
Nor can we snap our fingers and instantly change what is happening in Washington, D.C., your state’s capital, or even in your own county.
Ponder for a few moments again the list of billionaires in this list below. We’re not against honestly earned wealth. But when the system is rigged by whomever – and it is mostly the uber rich and their pawns, like MHI’s the Dick Jennison – then you have to ask how is that unraveled?
Its both simple, complex, and will require dedication. First, understanding, then action based upon understanding. Sharing information is part of it.
Enforcing just laws and upholding human dignity are the heart of what must occur. God gave us free will. We’re not robots. We’re responsible for our decisions and choices. Make those choices good ones, and your life will have enduring meaning, even after you are dust in the wind.
So, this article will remind you and thousands of others who will read it why you are here reading in the first place. You want third-party reality checks to help you navigate your professional decisions. To make the most of your life and opportunities.
Some of the richest, most powerful, and influential people in our industry will read this column.
MHARR Recommending Independent Collective Representation for Post-Production
Washington, D.C., November 15, 2017 – The Board of Directors of the Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform (MHARR) has authorized the public release of a comprehensive internal study by the Association of the past, present and future representation of the post-production sector (PPS) of the federally-regulated manufactured housing industry.
Some of those who read here hate what we do. Why? Because they believe they benefit by the status quo, and by others being kept in the dark. It is reports like the one below that they hope we won’t re-link.
We just did. Click on that image/text box to access that report.
Some of the industry’s rising stars are going to read this, at the same time that you do. Thousands – perhaps tens of thousands – of MHPros across the left-right political divide will surf in, and read this specific post.
The industry’s relatively low status today is the result of years of manipulation of “rigged” regulatory, zoning, capital markets, unjustified stigma, and sad slurs cast upon millions of HUD Code manufactured home and pre-June 15, 1976 mobile home owners.
Knowledge is only potential power. Understanding is a necessary first important step. But there must be follow-up steps beyond merely knowing too.
