MHProNews has learned from foxnews the Senate has passed a short-term spending bill that will keep the government open until Wednesday, Dec. 16, so negotiators can have more time to hammer out a longer term measure.
While lawmakers are trying to come together on a $1.1 trillion budget deal to fund all the government agencies in 2016, Republicans and Democrats are disagreeing over the environment, taxes and Syrian refugees.
While the Senate approved the stop-gap spending bill on voice vote, the House was expected to pass the measure today.
Meanwhile, MH industry pros continue to beseech others in the industry to contact their Congresspersons and urge them to include S 650 as a policy rider to the omnibus appropriations bill. The opportunity is now, no one knows what Congress may do in 2016. This is the industry’s best shot at alleviating the inadvertent effects of Dodd-Frank and the subsequent Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s hamstringing of manufactured home financing options.
