According to gov.texas that Gov. Greg Abbott has appointed Ronald M. “Ronnie” Richards, long-time vice-president of marketing for manufactured and modular home builder American Homestar Corporation, now retired, to the Texas Manufactured Housing (MH) Board. The board regulates the MH industry in Texas.
Currently part-owner of a wedding and reception venue in League City, he is also president of the Clear Lake Shores Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors and serves on the League City Hotel Occupancy Tax Advisory Board. Involved in other community affairs as well, Richards’ term on the MH Board will expire Jan. 31, 2017.
Gov Abbott also appointed Kiran Shah of Richmond, a native of India and independent owner of multiple national hotel franchises, to the MH Board. A one-time member of the Texas Board of Licensure for Professional Medical Physicists, he belongs to the Hotel and Lodging Association of Houston. Formerly a commissioner of the Houston Clean City Committee, he served as ambassador for the Asian American Hotel Owners Association. Moreover, he is past vice chair of the Sardar Patel Cultural Club. His term of the board is good through Jan. 31, 2019.
