From Texas and the Brownsville Herald, MHProNews.com learns that the Texas Manufactured Housing Division and the Texas Attorney General’s Office are working to provide relief to customers of the now-defunct mobile-home business Park Girl Sales. The agencies have received complaints of fraud from more than 40 customers. The efforts are in addition to a suit filed by Texas RioGrande Legal Aid that alleges many of its clients never received their home, were not given the title to the property, or were provided with property that carried previous debts. State law allows consumers who qualify to tap into $300,000 in the Texas Manufactured Homeowners’ Recovery Trust Fund. According to the report, the number of customers claiming to be victims continues to rise. According to the Texas Manufactured Housing Division web site, any Texas consumer with a complaint regarding this manufactured housing retailer should contact the Consumer Complaints Hotline at 877-313-3023.
