Gizmag tells us a Spanish partnership of CSO Arquitectura and prefab home builder Torsan has developed a modular home that can be move-in ready three weeks afer it is ordered. It takes a week to produce the detailed drawings, the frame and paneling are completed over three days, and a week later the home is sited. The homes can be adapted for water cachement, as well as photovoltaic cell and thermal solar systems for energy. MHProNews has learned prices for the SAVMS (Sistema Abierto de Viviendas Modulares Sostenibles, which roughly translates as Open Sustainable Modular Housing System) start at $85.00 a square foot.
