MHProNews has learned the City Council of Arkansas City in Kansas just north of the Oklahoma border, has voted to amend the municipal code to allow manufactured homes to be sited in residential-zoned districts. According to arkcity.net, the home must have been manufactured within the last year, including the time it is approved to be sited. It can be up to three years old but it must pass inspection, plus, the owner has the option of obtaining a structural evaluation by a licensed structural engineer to determine its soundness.
