According to mercurynews from California, both Santa Clara University and Stanford University will have entries in this year’s Solar Decathlon sponsored by the U. S. Department of Energy. The biennial competition fields 20 university teams to build the most comfortable, energy-efficient and aesthetically pleasing modular homes that leave the smallest carbon footprint. Santa Clara took third place in the competition in 2009, as MHProNews has learned. In the picture, the Stanford U. team prepares its net zero model on the campus at Palo Alto, Calif.
