DailyItem reports from Pennsylvania that two modular home builders, Integrity Building Systems Inc., of Milton, and Icon Legacy Custom Modular Homes LLC, of Selinsgrove, have agreed to merge operations by year’s end. Icon Legacy, owned by Don Stimley, has been in business four years in Selinsgrove. Stimley will lead the new company under the Icon Legacy name in this town north of Harrisburg. The 105 full time employees will be bolstered by half the work force from Integrity, bringing the total to 150. Richard Rowe, an Integrity owner, noting his company’s loss of 100 plus workers the past two years, says joining forces will help in riding out the rough economy. The incoming tenant of the space being vacated by Integrity may interview Integrity employees for their own workforce. Stimley says, “I will be consulting with (Rowe) and many of the other managers and employees of Integrity to make this work seamlessly. It’s for all of our benefit to do that.” Icon Legacy will add a new line of homes to the existing array of modular units. Steve Forcheskie, general manager of nearby Ritz-Kraft, in Millinburg, has seen business expand the past year, although he says it is a leaner operation. Noting that the population is growing, Forcheskie says, “Housing is not a fad. It’s the American Dream.”
