UFP New London, a subsidiary of Universal Forest Products, Inc. (UFPI), received approval from the Stanfield Town Council and the Stanly County Board of Commissioners in North Carolina for an economic incentive to use a local building for a heat lamination and assembly operation. The incentives require UFP to create 20 new full-time jobs and invest $1,053,000 in the town over the next five years. According to weeklypostnc.com, John DeVitto of UFP said in a statement, “We had several locations for this expansion, but the Stanfield location was the best fit for our products and our employees.” MHProNews knows UFPI supplies wood and wood-like products to the manufactured housing industry.
