WFTV9 reports from east Orange County, Fla. 49 homes were evacuated from the Alafaya Palms manufactured home community after an unidentified powder substance was found in a shed belonging to a man who had recently died. A relative cleaning out the property discovered the containers and alerted authorities who then ordered the evacuation. Randolph Hasbrock said the man made his own fireworks back in the day and he suspects it is gunpowder that was uncovered or some substance used to make fireworks. A member of the Orange County Sheriff’s Dept. said they are dangerous chemicals, but did not identify them before they were taken away for disposal. MHProNews learned school buses were diverted from the area, and residents of Alafaya who left around 11 in the morning were allowed to return by 6:30 that evening.
