Comedian Tom Rhodes describes his lodging at the Shady Dell vintage mobile home hotel in Bisbee, Arizona where guests stay in one of 12 Airstreams or other mobile homes from another era. As much museum as hotel, each unit has a particular theme: There is one camper that stocks vintage board games, another is a beach party bus with its own tiki bar, a third is a “honeymoon” yacht. Each unit has a record player with records from the 40’s and 50’s, similar to the ages of the mobile homes that Rhodes tells the Huffington Post are outfitted in showroom new condition. Rhodes and his wife stayed in the Royal Mansion suite that had a back bedroom with its own bathroom. He says the owners intend to bring in an outdoor movie screen so guests can enjoy the drive-in movie experience watching classic movies.
