In an attempt to improve the control of manufactured homes (MH) in West Frankfort, Illinois, city commissioners are proposing an ordinance to define space requirements for new MH within the city limits, but extending to 1 ½ miles out. Total area for the home must be 6,000 square feet, and the front, side and rear yards must conform to specific setbacks, according to dailyamericannews.com. Homes cannot be smaller than 20 feet wide and 40 feet long, and as MHProNews understands, the value and appearance of the new homes must be comparable to neighboring homes. The proposal does not apply to existing MH, only to new homes that someone may want to site. City commissioners must vote to adopt the new codes. ##
