Left-of-center, youth-focused Axios has released their latest polling data, and it doesn’t sound promising for Senate Democrats.
Five Senate Democrats would lose to Republican candidates if the elections were held today, per the Axios/Survey Monkey polling.
“Democrats are defending 10 Senate seats in states that President Trump won in 2016. In six of those states, Trump’s approval is higher than 50% (compared to 43% nationally). These numbers underscore how hard it will be for Democrats to pick up the two seats needed to win the majority despite Trump’s troubles,” said Axios.
It is important to note that polling this far out could shift for any number of reasons.
But it may signal that in spite of a tidal wave of mostly negative news from the mainstream media, the pro-Trump agenda are still the strongest political force going. A new Media Research Center report said recently that in their most recent survey, coverage by major TV networks was 91 percent against the president.
Still, the Trump base seems solid.
It should be noted that a local poll in Florida indicated that the Nelson/Scott contest is closer to a toss-up than Axios’ survey reported.
“It’s the economy, stupid,” said Clinton strategist and manufactured home owner insulter, James Carville.
MHProNews, unscientific pre-2016 election survey indicated that Trump support among manufactured homeowners was stronger than for Secretary Clinton. Support among industry professionals was widely in favor of the president and his agenda. ## (News, analysis, and commentary.)
