The Coffs Coast Advocate in Australia reports that Stonelake Design and Construction spent five years developing its Memod series of two-bedroom manufactured housing cottages that it unveiled last week at Park Beach. The affordable housing has a waterproof floor, and due to its comprehensive tight construction, could float if it were placed in a flood prone area where the water rose. Maurice Lake, the principal of the firm, says the Memods delivered were representative models, and that they could easily be customized to order. He has asked a local engineering firm to evaluate their quality compared to other manufactured housing and conventional housing. He says, “I am extremely confident Memods will be stronger than anything that is currently available on the Australian market.”
