A Black River Falls, Wisconsin, man had just awakened from a nap and stepped into his bathroom when a big semi-trailer-tractor truck crashed through the bedroom wall of his manufactured home.
WEAU-TV, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, tells MHProNews that Black River Falls Fire Chief Steve Schreiber, said the semi driver was driving east on Interstate 94 when he had a medical emergency. The driver tried to pull over, but ended up crossing over the ditch and crashing into a manufactured home on County Road A.
That home belongs to 69-year-old Bill Lamon, who had just awakened from a nap. His bedroom is right where the semi hit the home.
“I was going to take a shower, and I could hear this noise. I was in the doorway of the bathroom when it hit, and everything just exploded,” says Lamon. He said he thought it was an earthquake and was now feeling very grateful to be alive.
“Very grateful, because if I had been still in the bedroom a minute more, I would have been hit, and probably dead,” he explained.
The truck knocked the home 4 ft. off of its foundation, and the home is a total loss, but Lamon says a home can always be replaced. ##
