Wisdom Homes Of America, Inc., announced on February 4 that the company has an option to acquire 25 residential lots in Sherman, Texas, on which to locate manufactured homes.

“We are continually striving to make the manufactured home buying experience easier and faster for our customers,” Brent Nelms, President of Wisdom Homes, said. “Our goal is to help our customers by assisting them in finding residential lots on which to locate their manufactured homes. We also want to offer our customers a manufactured home that is already permanently affixed to the land, with all the improvements in place.”

Globe Newswire tells MHProNews that Nelms pointed out that one of the major benefits of offering a manufactured home permanently affixed to the land is that the sale is considered a real property (real estate) transaction as opposed to a chattel (personal property) transaction. “This important change in transaction classification allows us to utilize the more than 23,000 licensed realtors in Texas to access the listings and market our manufactured homes,” Nelms explained.

Jim Pakulis, CEO of SearchCore, Wisdom Homes’ parent company explained why the Sherman area was chosen as the site of the company’s new development. “The Sherman area is appealing for a number of reasons,” he said. “It has a robust, diversified industry base that is not dependent on oil production alone.”

Since Sherman is located just a few miles from the Oklahoma state line, Pakulis said that this location allows the company to market to home buyers in both Northern Texas and Southern Oklahoma.
