“Giving is the secret of abundance.”

In an age of ‘what’s in it for me’, one of the ways each of us can change the consciousness of the world in which we travel – whether it is your family, community or your nation – is to develop a personal philosophy of giving yourself away. Now, I don’t mean to imply that you have to share all of your time, ideas or wealth with your neighbor or a total stranger. Having said that, I would ask you how much of ‘you’ are you sharing?
I know many very generous people who share their financial wealth but who refuse to give up a single moment of their time for someone in need. I also know many people who struggle daily with the need to support a business or family who would give you hours of their time. Both types of generosity are worthy of our praise but what’s the difference between these two types of giving?
Question for the week
Do you gladly share; who you are, what you have learned, what you have or your time with those in need or who would benefit from your sharing?
