Quote for the week
“What hunger is in relation to food, zest is in relation to life.”
~ Bertrand Russell
TimBit for the week
All of life is a personal interpretation or perception of what is happening in our world. Each of us can look at a sunset, picture, or event and see something different. We can eat the same food, hear the same sounds, and smell the same smells, but in every case we will experience something totally unique. Life is filled with illusions that present themselves as real. One of the biggest illusions that people who are happy, have let go of, is that anyone other than themselves is responsible for their happiness, success, security, well being, and life outcomes. It is important to have friends, support systems, and to be able to count on others for understanding and help from time to time. However, really happy people know that although these are helpful and even important sometimes, they have learned that they are responsible for their own happiness.
Question for the week
What life illusions have you convinced yourself are real and how are they impacting your life?
